Rib Flaring Bandage Treatment

Until last year, we had been treating such Rib Flaring through surgical means. However, last year, we introduced the bandage treatment, which a colleague of ours was performing in his own clinic, to Turkey and had this bandage manufactured by companies in Turkey.

However, just as in many pectus carinatum cases, early diagnosis and success of treatment are parallel with each other. Displaced ribs are completely fixed within 1-12 months.

In the past, we were fixing these flaring ribs by performing a surgery on the patient as a treatment method. And we were removing flaring parts completely. Because we were thinking that the weakening of the thorax does not have any harm on the patient. But with the introduction of bandage treatment, we can treat these flaring ribs for patient with advanced age, whose problem cannot be fixed with bandage method.
